It is most commonly performed joint replacement surgery
Degenerated and Severely Damaged knee joint with erosion of cartilage and bone
Ends of both joint forming bones replaced with prosthesis and spacer to create new joint
Your knee joint is made of the lower end of the thigh bone (femur), upper end of shin bone (tibia) and the knee cap (patella). These are covered by smooth cartilage which allows them to glide smoothly. When the cartilage is worn away due to arthritis (either due to injury, degeneration, inflammatory process), there is pain, stiffness and restricted movement of the knee.
Total Knee Replacement is a surgical procedure in which the worn out or damaged surfaces of the knee joint is removed and replaced with artificial components. This allows the knee to be pain free and move smoothly aiming to establish healthy knee function similar to your native knee & provide you with a superior quality of life.
· Severe knee pain that limits your daily activities (such as walking, standing, getting up from a chair or climbing stairs)
· Moderate-to-severe pain that occurs during rest or awakens you at night
· Failure to obtain pain relief from medications, injections, physical therapy or other conservative treatments
The reasons for severe osteoarthritis include:
· Primary Knee Osteoarthritis
· Post traumatic knee arthritis
· Inflammatory arthritis(RA)
. Knee fractures
Dr Gaurav Singh will provide you with instructions on how to prepare before your surgery. You will be admitted to the hospital an evening prior or on the day of surgery. You will receive a regional (spinal) anaesthetic. In some patients general or epidural anaesthetic may be required.
I will make an incision on the front of your knee and expose your knee joint. Using specialized instrumentation and jigs, the damaged/degenerated portion of the knee is cut, sized and shaped to fit the components of the knee replacement. The knee joint is balanced and trailed to ensure stability and correct alignment. The knee implants are then fitted with the use of special bone cement and liner inserted. An injection of medication designed to provide post-surgery pain relief will be given within your knee joint. The knee will then be closed using stitches and clips
Following dressing of the wound you will be shifted to recovery and then to your room.
Usually you will spend 2-3 days in the hospital following a single total knee replacement.
You will be encouraged to begin certain movements immediately after surgery to aid in rapid recovery.
A physiotherapist will also visit you and start you on your rehabilitation plan. You are made to walk on the same day of surgery or at most by the next day.
Before leaving the hospital you will be made confident of walking, using the toilet and going up and down a few stairs.
Before discharge appointments will be made for your follow ups and for removal of clips.

Degenerated and Severely Damaged joint replaced with uncemented total hip replacement
Uncemented femoral stem and head placement
The hip joint is one of the body's largest weight-bearing joints, located between the thighbone (femur) and the pelvis (acetabulum). It is a ball and socket joint in which the head of the femur is the ball and the pelvic acetabulum forms the socket. The joint surface is covered by a smooth articular cartilage which acts as a cushion and enables smooth movements of the joint. When the cartilage is worn away due to arthritis (either due to injury, degeneration, inflammatory process), there is pain, stiffness and restricted movement of the hip.
Total hip replacement is a surgical procedure in which the damaged cartilage and bone is removed from the hip joint and replaced with artificial components.
This allows the hip to be pain free and move smoothly aiming to establish healthy hip function & provide you with a superior quality of life.
Total Hip replacement surgery is commonly indicated for osteoarthritis of the hip. Your doctor may advise total hip replacement if you have:

The hip joint is balanced and trialed to ensure stability and correct alignment. The hip implants are then fitted with or with out the use of special bone cement. The cup is made of metal which sits in the acetabular socket, the stem is made of metal inserted into the femur. The bearing surfaces which include the femoral head (metal or ceramic) and liner (plastic or ceramic), articulate with each other.

Shoulder is the joint where your upper arm connects with your body and is a ball-and-socket joint. The bone in your upper arm, called the humerus, has a round end that fits into the bended structure outside of your shoulder bone.
Tendons and ligaments hold it together. Ligaments connect the bones, while tendons associate muscles deep down. A layer of tissue called cartilage keeps the bones separated, so they don't rub against one another.
The ball and socket lets you move your arm here and there, back and forward, or around.
Shoulder Replacement surgery wherein all or part of the glenohumeral joint is supplanted by a prosthetic implant. If your shoulder joint gets genuinely harmed, you may require medical procedure to replace it.
Procedure of Shoulder Replacement
During the medical procedure, specialists supplant the harmed joint "ball," known as the humeral head, of the shoulder with a metal ball. They likewise place a plastic surface on the "socket" of the shoulder, known as the glenoid.
Now and then, a partial shoulder replacement can be performed. This includes replacing just the ball of the joint.
Similarly as with any surgery, a shoulder replacement has few complications. In spite of the fact that the complication rate is exceptionally low, you could experience
There are various sorts of shoulder substitutions that are done. Your specialist will assess your circumstance cautiously before settling on any choices.
The typical shoulder replacement includes supplanting the ligament joint surfaces with an exceptionally cleaned metal ball connected to a stem, and a plastic socket.
Contingent upon the state of your shoulder, your specialist may supplant just the ball. This method is known as a hemiarthroplasty. In a traditional hemiarthroplasty, the head of the humerus is supplanted with a metal ball and stem, like the segment utilized in a total shoulder substitution. This is known as a stemmed hemiarthroplasty.
Resurfacing hemiarthroplasty includes supplanting only the joint surface of the humeral head with a top like prosthesis without a stem. With its bone safeguarding advantage, it offers those with joint inflammation of the shoulder an option in contrast to the standard stemmed shoulder substitution.
Another kind of shoulder substitution is called reverse absolute shoulder substitution. It is used for people who have:
